Broke smartly, surged ahead to take command early, led comfortably through the backstretch, came into the straight first, ridden out by A. Sandesh under hands and heels, and drew clear in the final 100 metres to win convincingly.
Settled fifth along the rails early, improved gradually approaching the bend, angled out as they straightened up for home, warmed up nicely under Trevor’s urgings, and finished on strongly inside the last furlong to take a game second.
Raced midfield till the 800, urged forward around the bend, came wide into the straight, responded well under pressure, and was finishing on powerfully in the final strides to secure the third spot close behind the front pair.
Lost about three lengths at the start, recovered quickly to race at the rear, made steady progress along the inner rails, switched out slightly as they entered the straight, and ran on late to finish a close fourth.
Raced prominently in second behind the leader, poised well till the home turn, moved up to challenge as they straightened for home, but despite a strong effort, weakened in the closing stages to end fifth.
Settled second early, held back to mid-bunch approaching the 1000m, came under pressure past the bend, drifted slightly wide entering the straight, and though ridden out, failed to quicken, finishing a tame sixth.
Raced in close touch behind the leading trio, pushed along from the 600m, turned wide for home, but failed to accelerate under pressure and gradually faded to finish seventh.
Raced along the rails in the second half, never really in touch with the front-runners, ridden out from the 700m, negotiated the turn wide, and made no headway in the straight, finishing well back in eighth.
Missed the jump slightly, dropped to the tail early, ridden vigorously through the bend, but found nothing under pressure and trailed the field throughout to finish last, completely outpaced.
