Settled towards the rear with cloudy hills soon after the start, raced on the outer flank down the back stretch, turned for home in about 10th, came into the straight but made no significant headway and remained in the back markers at the finish
Out early to head them, strode to the front by half a length from selma and war emblem, maintained the lead past 900, still the clear leader entering the home turn in 1st, headed soon after straightening and gradually faded when the challengers swept by
