Clean jump, held the fence in midfield behind the prominent group, maintained that position approaching the 800, turned for home around fifth, moved up briefly in the straight but could not find extra, fading back through the pack by the finish
Broke well, raced three wide just behind the midfield, still in the second half of the bunch at the 800, maintained that wide course into the bend around seventh, offered only a mild response in the straight, staying on without menace to finish in the pack
Level break, tucked in towards the fence behind midfield early, held that rearward position passing the 800, negotiated the turn about twelfth, stayed on the inside rail in the straight, making no serious impression on the leaders and finishing well back
